Amaro Di Angostura cops gold!

The House of Angostura’s Amaro Di Angostura has won two prestigious Gold Medals from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the World Spirits Awards, respectively.

These awards are just the latest since Amaro was launched in 2014 when it immediately won the 9th Annual Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards®for “Best New Spirit or Cocktail Ingredient.”

“To have been awarded these Gold Medals, particularly on the heels of our Tales of the Cocktail win, is truly an honour,” says Genevieve Jodhan, Executive Manager International Sales and Marketing, “Amaro Di Angostura embodies the creativity, deep expertise and dedication to innovation of the House of Angostura and these awards clearly demonstrate that it has become an instant classic in the spirits world.”

Amaro Di Angostura is made with the Amaro lover in mind and leverages The House of Angostura’s 190-year heritage in blending the finest award winning bitters and rums. Its flavours explode on the tongue with warm cinnamon and liquorice notes followed by a finish that is perfectly balanced, exotic, lush and reminiscent of the essence of Trinidad and Tobago’s pulsating rhythms, tropical climate and beauty.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is considered to be the most influential spirits competition in the world; it was founded in 2000 as a way to determine and award exceptional products in the spirits industry and is judged by established spirits-industry experts. This was the 16th San Francisco World Spirits Competition and featured more than 1,850 entries representing some of the finest products from around the world.

The mission of The World Spirits Awards is to establish, as the world’s best competition with a distillery classification, an assessment standard that sets the ultimate benchmark in the world of spirits.
Some 400 spirits from 60 participants and distilleries from 25 nations were judged in this year’s competition, which was judged by an international jury of tasters.
