Incarcerated dancehall artist Vybz Kartel will soon be launching his own brand of rum.
Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, received approval to launch his new beverage in a Jamaican court.
“Once he has the necessary licenses, it can be done because there is no law that disallows imprisoned persons from having business operations,” Clerk of the Court at the St Andrew Parish Court, Hansard Lawson, is reported to have said according to Jamaican media.

The new rum is expected to be hitting the Jamaican market very soon and will also be launching in other Caribbean territories including Trinidad.

This will mark the second time that Vybz Kartel will be going into the rum business. Back in 2011 the former Portmore Empire head and former business partner

He formerly owned Street Vybz Rum but that was shut down  after he and his former business partner Corey Todd fell out in 2011.

Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for murder and has appealed the conviction.
